The grapes are sourced from vineyards spanning four different regions – Stellenbosch, Robertson, Barrydale and Kaaimansgat (Villiersdorp). They all are nestled in a mixture of shale and high-altitude granitic soils. The wine is imbued with opulence and richness as a result of the shale soils, while the granitic soils contribute elegance and refinement.
Description
The 2023 Beeslaar Chardonnay exhibits fragrant aromas of citrus fruits and green apples. On the palate, ripe pineapple flavours contrast delicately with the mineral nucleus of the wine. In addition to the delicate acidity that interweaves with the perfectly balanced core, the moderate alcohol content contributes to a palate-pleasing and revitalising finish.
Producer Profile
We’re thrilled to introduce a true icon of South African winemaking to the Museum Wines portfolio: Beeslaar Wines, the personal label of legendary winemaker Abrie Beeslaar, who spent 23 vintages at the helm of Kanonkop and was named IWSC International Winemaker of the Year no less than four times.
