Description
The 2021 Auxey-Duresses Premier Cru from Comte Armand offers a more structured and refined expression compared to its village-level counterpart. A blend of grapes from the Bretérins and Bas de Duresses lieux-dits, this wine is marked by a deep, almost purple hue and a bouquet of blackcurrant, cassis, and violet aromas. The medium-bodied palate is framed by fresh acidity and a gentle grip, with flavors of mulberry, spice, and a hint of smoke. Despite its firm tannins and density, the wine remains balanced, showcasing a relatively opulent finish. Aged in cask after a cold soak and brief fermentation, it reveals great promise, with an ideal drinking window from 2024 onwards.
