    Description

The 2019 Chenin Blanc Reserve is a full-bodied, elegant wine crafted from vines that are more than 35 years old. The wine undergoes fermentation and aging in French barrels for 12 months, which imparts creamy tertiary flavors of vanilla, caramel, and cantaloupe.

On the nose, it offers pronounced aromas of quince, citrus blossoms, and fresh ginger, with a hint of pineapple. The palate is rich and complex, with a long, lingering finish that highlights the wine’s elegance. The slightly cooler climate contributes to its refined character, making this a beautifully balanced wine with a delightful depth of flavor.

Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with seafood dishes like a fresh pilaf risotto or a delicate pollock fillet.

    Producer Profile

A family owned wine producer located in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley. Established by owners Gerard Holden (a British investment banker in another life) & Migo Manz in 2010. The 22ha estate is situated between the Franschhoek River and Stony Brook at 300m above sea level.  With only 16 ha under vine, their focus has always been red grape varieties, though their stellar white wines, from the reserve Chardonnay, to the Chenin Blanc, and now Semillon requires further inspection. Best you read the critic’s notes and taste, to see for yourself!
