Expertly sniffed out, seriously good value, and just a little under the radar.
We’ve added three new French wines to the portfolio, not the obvious big names, but bottles from producers who punch way above their price. The kind our team loves to unearth: character, pedigree, and real value without the markup of the usual suspects.
Think: a classy Cahors Malbec from its ancestral homeland, a biodynamic, electric Melon de Bourgogne from one of the Loire’s great artisans, and a boutique Margaux second label that overdelivers in spades.
These aren’t just gap-fillers, they raise the game. Under-the-radar brilliance, sourced for you.

Château Castelbruck is the second wine of Château Haut Breton Larigaudière, a 15 hectare Margaux estate between Soussans and Arsac bought by the current owners, the Schepper family, in the 60s. Soils are a combination of deep gravel, sand and clay. After a cold maceration, fermentation takes place in both concrete and stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in oak, 25% new, for 12 months followed by a further 8 months in stainless steel vats. The estate is HVE certified and managed sustainably. Generous, deep and brambley with cedar spiced oak on the nose which mellows if decanted. The palate is rich and robust with lovely plum and herbal characters, a supple tannic structure. Open well in advance of drinking or decant to enjoy this very characterful Margaux at its best.
Melonix, made by Jo Landron, is a sulphur-free wine, 100 % made from Melon de Bourgogne. Original and gourmet, this white wine reveals all its secrets during the tasting: white fruits, pear and citrus fruits but also a touch of butcher wrapping, supple and tension on the finish.
Château du Cèdre Le Cèdre Héritage Rouge is a luxurious red wine made from Malbec grapes in the Cahors region of France. This wine has a dark, rich color and an aroma of ripe blackberries and vanilla. The taste is bold and full-bodied with a silky texture and notes of dark fruits, chocolate, and spice. The wine is aged for 20 months in oak barrels adding to its complex flavors. It is a perfect pairing with rich meats like beef, lamb, or venison. This wine is a perfect example of the skill and dedication it takes to produce a world-class red wine.
