August Making Space Sale
Selected Wines | Available until 31 August 2026 | New wines added each week
One of the advantages of importing directly is that our cellar is constantly evolving.
New vintages and small allocations are already on their way from South Africa, France, Spain and further afield. Before they arrive, we occasionally create space by highlighting a small selection of exceptional wines at prices that are rarely repeated.
This week, we’re beginning with Holden Manz.
Set between the Franschhoek River and Stony Brook in the Bo-Hoek of Franschhoek, Holden Manz has become one of the valley’s benchmark estates. Under the guidance of Thierry Haberer and Emil Kluge, the wines combine classical European precision with the generosity of South African fruit, earning consistent acclaim while remaining one of the Cape’s best-kept secrets.
The valley has also endured devastating fires this summer, reminding us just how resilient these vineyards, and the people behind them, continue to be. Supporting estates like Holden Manz means supporting a region that continues to produce extraordinary wines despite increasingly challenging conditions.
As part of our Making Space Selection, the Holden Manz Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2020 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 are each available at £18 for a limited time. Opportunities like this don’t come around often, and once the next shipments arrive, neither will these prices.
If you’ve yet to discover Holden Manz, we think this is the perfect place to start.
100% Chardonnay, Western Cape
A beautifully judged Chardonnay fermented and matured in barrel, balancing ripe citrus, stone fruit and gentle oak with freshness and precision. Rich enough for the dinner table, restrained enough to reward another glass.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon, Western Cape
94 Points – Greg Sherwood MW
“Rich bold and dark fruited, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon has a multi-layered structure brimming with aromas of sweet damson plum, ripe black currant and macerated black cherries. Deliciously sweet fruited on the palate, there is a fine vein of bright acidity running beneath the ripe black berry fruits that harmoniously integrate with plush fleshy tannins and well-integrated, measured oaking. An accomplished wine from this noteworthy Cape vintage. Drink now to 2035+.” – Greg Sherwood MW.
