The Cabernet Sauvignon from Holden Manz presents itself as rich and powerful on the palate. In the nose, complex aromas of dark fruits spread. Centrally on the palate, the Holden Manz Cabernet Sauvignon impresses with a full body and pronounced depth. Aromas of Blackberry and blueberry are underlined by fine wood nuances and gentle tannins. This robust red wine was aged for 22 months in a French oak barrel. The finish of this fruity Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and long-lasting.

Producer Profile

A family owned wine producer located in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley. Established by owners Gerard Holden (a British investment banker in another life) & Migo Manz in 2010. The 22ha estate is situated between the Franschhoek River and Stony Brook at 300m above sea level.  With only 16 ha under vine, their focus has always been red grape varieties, though their stellar white wines, from the reserve Chardonnay, to the Chenin Blanc, and now Semillon requires further inspection. Tasting Notes

Greg Sherwood 94

Rich bold and dark fruited, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon has a multi-layered structure brimming with aromas of sweet damson plum, ripe black currant and macerated black cherries. Deliciously sweet fruited on the palate, there is a fine vein of bright acidity running beneath the ripe black berry fruits that harmoniously integrate with plush fleshy tannins and well-integrated, measured oaking. An accomplished wine from this noteworthy Cape vintage. Drink now to 2035+. [Greg Sherwood MW, 08/08/2025]
