Description

All the grapes for this wine come from a trellised, hand-harvested vineyard in Stellenbosch. Grapes are picked in bins in optimal conditions to ensure quality. Pinot Gris is picked in three batches: early for freshness, middle for structure, and a small late picking to add body. This wine is predominantly made up of the first two picks. The wine is whole bunch pressed, and then naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks and old oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

Smells a little like those tiny Parma Violet sweeties you get in tubes. I m not terribly sure I would have identified this as Pinot Gris, but there is a bit of ginger in there giving it nip. Nashi pears, but a teeny bit hollow mid palate. I d have liked a bit more mouthfeel and concentration, capturing that South African sunshine. But otherwise nice and fresh. [Tamlyn Currin, 25/03/2026]
