“Maison Chanzy is a highly respected Burgundian producer, their wines are a classical demonstration of premium vineyard sites in Côte Chalonnaise, Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Their range has been carefully engineered by winemaker Max Blondelle, whose primary task is to create wines that eloquently communicate their respective terroir, whilst remaining hands-off in his approach. As such, Chanzy are one of the few Burgundy producers to achieve Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3; the most highly regarded certification for agriculture in France.”
Description
From the renowned “Clos de la Fortune” vineyard, the 2021 Maison Chanzy Bouzeron Clos Fortune exemplifies the Aligoté grape’s true potential. Crafted with slow, gentle pressing and fermentation at controlled temperatures to preserve its delicate aromas, this wine strikes a remarkable balance between richness and freshness. The 1/3 unoaked component enhances its vibrant green apple, lemon, and ginger spice notes, while the remaining portion, aged in stainless steel vats and casks, brings structure and complexity. A hit of flinty minerality on the finish gives this wine its distinctive character, showcasing the unique expression of Aligoté from this exceptional terroir.

Daniel Grigg NR
Supple and consistent, with a texture chiseled with an alert liveliness, it can be tasted at all stages of its life. It is fond of its youth but develops great complexity as it ages and turns into a great wine. Gourmet. [Daniel Grigg, 01/03/2023]
