Description

Deep ruby in color with a red edge, the 2018 Holden Manz Cabernet Sauvignon offers an intense nose of cassis, cloves, and subtle hints of blackberry and pencil shavings. The palate is dense yet smooth, showcasing a complex array of dark fruit. The mid-palate is full and expansive, leading to a long, balanced finish with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a touch of tension. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, this wine combines richness and elegance, making it suitable for both immediate enjoyment and further aging.

Pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roasted lamb, venison, or hearty vegetable dishes.

Producer Profile

A family owned wine producer located in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley. Established by owners Gerard Holden (a British investment banker in another life) & Migo Manz in 2010. The 22ha estate is situated between the Franschhoek River and Stony Brook at 300m above sea level.  With only 16 ha under vine, their focus has always been red grape varieties, though their stellar white wines, from the reserve Chardonnay, to the Chenin Blanc, and now Semillon requires further inspection. Best you read the critic’s notes and taste, to see for yourself!
