Reviews
Decanter 95
Opening slowly, it’s as equally distinct in fragrance as its sister bottling – though more Mediterranean in temperament. Lavender and scented broom mingle with pepper, expanding with sumptuous tannins that hem in plentiful fruit, perky acidity that keeps it lively, and a long and violet-tinged finish. It definitely carries the stuffing and structure for ageing.- Decanter, 95 points. Always one of my favourite wines among the new Brunello releases, the certified organic Helichrysum Brunello 2018 is an extremely attractive offering with plenty of perfumed immediacy to the aromatics filled with violets and dried rose petals, ripe black orchard fruits, black currant and a wild cherry kirsch liquor complexity. Wonderfully succulent and elegant, this cuvee always shows a seamless mineral laden concentration, youthfully fresh acids and a delicious orange and tangerine peel-tinged persistence that melts into spicy, earthy red and black cherry fruits on the long finish. Classically proportioned with plenty of depth, you can drink this on release of cellar comfortably for another 8 to 10+ years. – Greg Sherwood MW. [Decanter, 01/01/2023]
