Don’t panic! We’re not being sold to an overseas investor, but we do have some exciting news for our loyal customers.
Firstly, we’re delighted to welcome Lauren Brewer to the Museum Wines family. She is taking up the role of General Manager at No8 Wine Co, freeing up Daniel to focus on the challenge of running our Cranborne shop, located within the grounds of 10 Castle Street, whilst also curating and managing the wine offering within the hotel. He’ll be on site in Cranborne from 10am – 6pm every Thursday, Friday & Saturday from the 22nd August, so if you still need your weekly Daniel fix, you know where to find him!
“Hello to all you wine lovers out there. I’m Lauren, the new General Manager of No8 Wine Shop in Tarrant Hinton, and what a lovely little spot it is! For those that I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting already, I should probably tell you a bit about me…
After a BSc in Exercise Science, and a brief stint as a water sports instructor, I found myself in online retail management selling products I wasn’t particularly passionate about. Cue a move to WINE retail! A couple of years at Majestic Wine taught me all about the good stuff, and earned me my WSET level 3. For the past year I’ve been getting all sciencey at Plumpton Wine College studying an MSc in Viticulture and Oenology (vine growing and winemaking), while working at the beautiful English Oak Vineyard in Lytchett Matravers. Now I’m loving being back in a wine shop, understanding just how much hard work goes into every single drop!
“But, Lauren, what’s your favourite wine under £20 that you’ve tried in your first week?!” I hear you cry. Well, that would have to be the Miss Molly Manor Born, a 60% Chardonnay 40% Semillon blend from Franschhoek, SA. Oak integration that good doesn’t come around often at just £14.99.
Looking forward to meeting you all soon.”
And finally, to celebrate our news and a fantastic summer, we’re teaming up with The Pocket Orchestra to host the mysterious, yet enchanting, sounding Lobster in the Woods at 10 Castle Street on Friday 23rd August. Click here to find out more and let us know you’re coming!
