Three Sticks Wines is a boutique, family-owned winery founded by Bill Price (William S. Price III). Founded in 2002, the winery is named for Bill’s surfing nickname, “Billy Three Sticks,” which was assigned to him in his youth as a reference to the three Roman numerals that follow his name. As a long-time fan and collector of wines from the Durell Vineyard, Price purchased the property from Ed Durell in 1998, and launched Three Sticks a few years later. In 2004, Don Van Staaveren, the winemaker believed by many to be responsible for putting Chateau St. Jean, and Sonoma wines in the critical limelight throughout the 1990s, joined the team. Three Sticks now produces approximately 4000 cases of small-lot wine from premium vineyard sources in Sonoma.

In The Vineyard
"This wine holds a special place in our hearts hailing from the birthplace of the Three Sticks story, our first vineyard, laying the foundation for our incredible collection of vineyards. Our original Heritage vineyard, Durell, is highly regarded throughout Sonoma, characterized by its diverse microclimates and rocky volcanic soils. This 610-acre vineyard, with 180 acres planted, is mainly chardonnay and pinot noir. Our vineyard spans the Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Carneros AVAs and was first planted in the 1970s, making it an integral part of Sonoma’s history. Its reputation continues to shine through every grape and in every glass of wine."
The variety of soils at our beloved homesite vineyard combine to a rich, luxurious wine, accented by lemon zest and slate minerality. With additional notes of golden apple, ruby red grapefruit, and honeysuckle, this wine is best described as a ray of sunshine in your glass.
