A tremendously appealing and generous style of Champagne with flavours of citrus fruit, orange blossom mingling beautifully with baked apples and the mouth-watering scent of fresh bread and brioche. Really vibrant and well-balanced on the palate, with fabulous soft bubbles, bright acidity and long, savoury finish. So moreish! Great as an aperitif, with food, at a party and as a celebratory glass – it ticks all the boxes. Carte d’Or is kept in their cellar for 6 years before disgorgement.

In The Vineyard
The key assets of this family owned estate of Champagne Moutardier are – the Pinot Meunier, their terroir and their expertise. Their 18 hectares of vineyard in the Surmelin Valley (Marne) are the perfect terroir for the Meunier which plays such a vital role in so many of their ‘Cuvee’ while the latest generation to take the reins in brothers William and Simon, have benefitting from the expertise handing down from the 4 generations preceding them while bringing in their own enthusiasm and approach.
This easy-drinking/aperitif Carte d’Or gives a wonderful generosity of ripe fruit…..fresh white fruits like peach, Mirabelle plum and ripe apples. The mouthfeel is bold and fresh, perfectly harmonious and balanced.
