Ian’s inspiration behind Franchare was to make a Provence-style Rosé imbued with South African spirit, pale pink in colour with a persistent, electric acidity that will keep the vibes alive from noon until moon.

Crafted from Cinsault and Grenache, the red cultivars that have earned Ian a cult following around the globe, are indigenous Southern France to Southern France, but absolutely blossom in the terroir of the new African home exhibiting subtle stone fruit, peach, and apricot, alongside fresh kiwi with rose petal and turkish delight on the finish.
This is glittering new Rosé offering from the Cape made from a classical Provencal blend of Grenache and Cinsault grapes, and offers up crystalline top notes of pear drop, white peach, tangerine peel and tantalising hints of honeydew melon over a stony, granitic minerality. Light to medium bodied, the palate is wonderfully crisp and fresh with summer berry notes of strawberries, raspberries and ruby grapefruit before a sleek, taut, fine-tuned stylish finish. An incredibly delicious new Rosé offering that is sure to be a favourite this summer! (91+/100 Greg Sherwood MW)
