The Fontevecchia Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Superiore is one of the most popular wines produced by CasalFarneto Wine Estate. Wine of great expression, it is a variety of Verdicchio Classico Superiore, elegant and very pleasant, fresh and lingering white floral aromas with green herbaceous hints, almond and stone-fruit.
Bottle size: 750 ml,
In The Cellar
The wine is obtained with the technique of “vinification in white” with soft pressing of the clusters and thermo-controlled fermentation. Refinement takes in steel tanks and in bottle.
In The Vineyard
Fontevecchia is produced in the company-owned vineyards of central Le Marche on a soil of medium to loose consistency, with southeast exposure.
"This Verdicchio is a mouth-watering gastronomic delight that shows a shiny crystalline luminosity in the glass and offers up attractive aromatics of spring flowers, white citrus, cut limes, dry thatch and subtle hints of white peaches and almond skins. On the palate there is a lovely classically constructed, chiselled mouthfeel that shines with a tangy fresh acidity, layers of tart green apple, summer pears, peach stones and a stony, bitter lemon finish. But it is exactly the wines salinity and gentle picante bitterness that makes is such a fabulous pairing with a wide range of Mediterranean dishes including white meats and seafood. Drink now while young and vibrant and over the next 2 to 3 years." - Greg Sherwood MW.
