In The Cellar
Pre-cooled fruit is destemmed and crushed before being lightly pressed. Majority free-run juice is used that is settled overnight. Fermentation occurred in stainless-steel tanks.

In The Vineyard
From vineyards planted majority 2016 adding a jolt of freshness. Vines from 1985 and 1993 add depth and concentration building complexity with terroir, rather than tools.
The label that winemaker Kiara Scott describes as 'an overview of the estate'. Chenin Blanc from several of their own vineyards. They have a lot of microclimates across their vineyards and will do up to four different pickings in order to get the balance of acidity and fruit that she wants. The Mason Road bottling comes mainly from their younger vineyards. Spontaneous fermentation, 90% of which is done in stainless steel and around 10% of which comes from barrels that don't make it into the flagship Brookdale Chenin Blanc. Screwcap. Gorgeous vineyard peaches, right up front, leaping out the glass and dancing happy jigs on my tongue. This is fabulous! Pure fruit, loads of apricots. Drive and race and for an easy-drinking Chenin, it punches way, way above its weight. I could drink this all day. Playful but confident with massive integrity. A little frisson of spice.
