Description
All the grapes for this wine come from a trellised, hand-harvested vineyard in Stellenbosch. Grapes are picked in bins in optimal conditions to ensure quality. Pinot Gris is picked in three batches: early for freshness, middle for structure, and a small late picking to add body. This wine is predominantly made up of the first two picks. The wine is whole bunch pressed, and then naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks and old oak barrels.
Producer Profile
Brothers JP and Pierre Winshaw have released a new set of wines under the Winshaw Vineyards label. The wines are inspired by their great-grandfather, Dr. William Charles Winshaw, who started the Stellenbosch Farmers’ Winery, and their grandfather, Bill Winshaw, who continued the growth of this company. The Winshaw Family Farm is located in Klein Welmoed, Stellenbosch where, in addition to wine, Pierre and JP also produce pasture-reared beef, lamb and eggs.
