Description
The 2022 Robert-Denogent Mâcon-Villages Les Sardines is a fresh, slightly lemony organic white wine made from Chardonnay, produced in Burgundy’s Mâcon-Villages AOC. Known for its brightness and roundness, this wine pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, and dry cheeses.
The wine is crafted from five hectares of vineyards across Mâcon, Saint-Véran, and Pouilly-Fuissé, where the Denogent family practices ecological agriculture, avoiding herbicides and pesticides. The grapes are harvested manually at their peak ripeness.
The winemaking process involves direct pressing into 228-litre French oak barrels, where the wine ages for 18 to 30 months, with only 15% of the barrels being new. The result is a rich, complex, and unctuous Chardonnay, showcasing the best characteristics of the terroir.
