Description
The 2021 Le Difese, Tenuta San Guido, is made from hand-selected grapes, fermented in stainless steel at 27-28°C, with maceration for 13-18 days. After malolactic fermentation, it spends 3-4 months in steel, followed by 6-8 months in French oak barriques previously used for Sassicaia and Guidalberto.
The wine is well-structured, supple, and offers aromas of black tea, wild blackberries, cassis, and herbs. It has a medium body, rustic tannins, and a long finish, making it a great choice for Super Tuscan enthusiasts.

Full bottle just 1,193 g. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese from the same stable as Sassicaia and its early-drinking counterpart Guidalberto. Transparent garnet. Light, fresh nose. Still pretty dry on the finish with pure fruit in the middle that’s relatively light and with the obvious freshness of Sangiovese more apparent than Cabernet. Nicely judged and it tastes as though it may have seen some of the used barrels from its more expensive siblings. Should gain slightly more fruit and complexity with a year or two in bottle.
