Few wines can match the pure unadulterated deliciousness of a lightly oaked Sangiovese from a ripe, lush quality vintage in Montalcino. This 2019 is simply brimming with complex layers of sweet lilac, stewed red cherries, earthy wild strawberries, polished mahogany and subtle salted caramel vanilla pod notes. On the palate the wine is rich and generous with fleshy, mouth-watering layers of sweet black cherry, tart plum, kirsch liquor and salty black currant nuances. So forward, open and giving, this delicious wine holds nothing back and offers up fabulous quality, lovely purity and a lavish berry fruit concentration on the finish. Drink this now and over the next 3 to 5 years. – Greg Sherwood MW. [Greg Sherwood, 01/01/2023]
