“Stark-Condé were named in the ‘First Growth’ category of Tim Atkin’s special report on South Africa in 2019 whilst winemaker Rudger van Wyk was named Young Winemaker of the Year 2019. All in all they’re very much an estate on the rise and we’re very excited to welcome them to the Museum Wines portfolio.
From their well-known Three Pines vineyard, just above the Cabernet. The grapes were hand-harvested and hand-sorted and fermented in open tanks with hand-punchdowns throughout. Matured for 20 m
Description
The 2017 Three Pines Syrah is a beautifully crafted wine from a warm and dry vintage, resulting in intensely aromatic wines with velvety tannins and concentrated fruit. The focus here is on texture, creating a smooth, polished mouthfeel with a perfect balance between power and elegance. Floral notes of violet and subtle white pepper enhance the ripe blackberry and plum fruit, while the long, elegant finish is described as having the “texture of crushed violets.” A wine that will continue to evolve beautifully with time.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with beef, lamb, venison, poultry, or roasted vegetables.
