“Many years ago, one of my importers in London asked that I make him a sweet wine that he could pair with the cheese board at his restaurant.
For years I thought he was joking, until his regular insistence demanded action on my part. So I found a block of Mourvèdre in the Swartland, and let the sun go to work. The result is our naturally sweet Mourvèdre. It is rich and full-bodied, but with a strong line of acidity to keep the wine balanced and ensure that it can be enjoyed at any time.

Description
The 2014 Natural Sweet Mourvèdre is a rich, full-bodied wine with a striking balance of natural sweetness and fresh acidity. Made from 100% Mourvèdre, it offers concentrated flavors that evolve beautifully with age, and the sweetness may even intensify over time. With its well-structured acidity, this wine maintains its balance and remains enjoyable for many years. A fantastic alternative to Port and other fortified wines, it also pairs beautifully with dessert.
Producer Profile
Ian Naudé’s wines are unlike anything else.
His range of wines are made up of esoteric pockets of old and new vines that tell a story about South African heritage. He did so fearlessly, believing that South African wine, if made honestly, and without compromise can come to rival the finest wines in the world. And slowly the international wine cognoscenti have started believing it too, as demonstrated by their rave reviews year-on-year.
