Voche Vino de Autor, Rioja, Spain, 2001

Coined as one of the ‘greatest vintages of the 21st century in Rioja’ by Decanter Magazine we bring you Voche Vino de Autor 2001, recently awarded Grand Gold and Best in Show in 2022 Mundus Vini competition.

Vino de Autor is a blend of old bush vine Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano, planted over 50 years ago in Rioja del Reyno. The early noughties were a distinct golden period for Rioja, delivering age-worthy wines. This wine has been aged for 36 months in second and third use French and American barrels with a further 18 years in bottle before release – an incredible commitment to quality for a wine sold at such a modest price.

It’s a full bodied Rioja that provides a powerful and enticing aroma of dried fruit, toasty oak, forest floor and tobacco. Vanilla nuances lead to a full and generous palate. The tannins are fine and silky providing elegance and structure. This is a classic vintage Rioja drinking perfectly now.
