Ruinart, Brut Rosé, Reims, Champagne, NV
Ruinart rosé is not just any sparkling rosé. The house, which was founded in 1728 making it the oldest producer in the region, still only producers 1.7 million across its entire range of five Champagnes. That might sound a lot but considering there are over 3 million bottles of Dom Perignon produced by Moet & Chandon each year puts it into perspective somewhat.
The grapes used for Ruinart rosé are sourced exclusively from Premier & Grand Cru vineyard sites which bestows the wine with a depth and complexity which is founding wanting in so many other expressions. Not so in Ruinart, which is probably why this wine is held in such high regard.
