Naudé Wines, Langpad, Colombard, Vredendal, South Africa, 2021
Ian Naudé chose the name Langpad, which means Long Road in Afrikaans, for his inaugural release of Colmbard because the cultivar was the first white varietal planted in South Africa 350 years ago and also because it is a four and a half hour drive north of Stellenbosch.
The 2020 vintage was his maiden release and heralded with fantastical acclaim, yet the 2021 seems somehow even more complete and has already been rated 95+ by Greg Sherwood. A saline minerality, oyster shell, peach, samphire & lemon curd.
This wine is currently awaiting lorry driver availability to get it from port to our warehouse, we hope to dispatch all orders for it by the end of November.
