Museum Wines & Blind Faith online Rosé tasting – 26th May 2021
Here we go again with another online tasting in partnership with Blind Faith, this time a rosé head to head pitting wines from South Africa against those from France.
The French have had a pretty easy ride with their monopoly on the pale pink wine market over the years but South Africa, having eschewed their penchant for wines which look more like light red than they do rosé, are suddenly giving winemaker in Provence (and beyond) sleepless nights with their ethereal and enticing expressions of the style.
With perceptions derived from labels not an influence let’s see whether the SA wines really do stack up against the OG of France, or if they stick out from the crowd… Each tasting pack will include six anonymous 68ml pouches, all six will be rosé and all six will be from either France or South Africa.
You’re able to taste the wine in your own time and complete your assessment for each wine online including which country you think it is from, which region, vintage, the grape(s) and if you’re feeling particularly confident the name of the producer. We’d also love for you to give it a score out of 100 as well so we can see how the rank in popularity.
Daniel Grigg, our Managing Director and resident quality control officer, will then host the live reveal at 7pm on Wednesday 26th May which will be a 45 minute whirlwind of vinous witticisms galore and, of course, letting you in on what exactly you’ve been tasting.
All orders will be fulfilled by Blind Faith in their nifty, letter box friendly packaging meaning there’s no need for you to be home when it’s delivered and no need for a signature.
If you want to take part the deadline for orders is midday on Monday 17th May and your tasting packs should reach you by Saturday 22nd May giving you plenty of time to taste the wines and submit your answers before the Zoom call on the 26th.
