Jancis Robinson 17/20 rated case of Holden Manz & Stark-Condé Rosé – 3 bottles of each – 20% off

Holden Manz, Hiro Rosé 2019 Western Cape 17/20

Super-pale golden-gris colour. Smells like hay dust. Tastes more like a blanc de noir than a rosé. Warm hay, saffron and toasted breadcrumbs, with a nuttiness and a touch of lemon-waxy lanolin. Slightly floral on the finish. This is complex, but very unconventional. Think of it, and treat it, like a white wine, southern Rhône style.

Stark-Condé, Rosé 2020 Jonkershoek Valley 17/20

Smells of rose petals. Wonderfully briny and tangy. Fragrant herbs, guava and wild red-berried fruit fill the palate, and, tucked into the edges, a touch of subtle anise and fennel seed. The rose petals appear again towards the end, along with deeper blues of blackcurrant and a cool ripe-peach purity.
