Holden Manz, Proprietor’s Blend, Franschhoek, South Africa, 2018
A bright, flinty nose with lime, green apples, tangerine and honeysuckle. This blend of equal parts Chardonnay & Viognier is complemented by 20% Chenin Blanc sees 12 months lees contact which bestows the wine with a creaminess and complexity.
A character of citrus and white flowers, knit with a flinty minerality, some salinity and a persistent acidity spearhead a long, smooth finish. Do this justice by pairing with seared tuna loin, charred fennel with truffled pomme purée and puttanesca.
