Holden Manz, Cabernet Franc Reserve, Franschhoek Valley, South Africa, 2016
The 2016 Cabernet Franc Reserve from Holden Manz is somehow even more of a joy than the 2015 owing to the perfect growing conditions led to a lower yield but the best quality fruit ever produced by the winery.
We were lucky enough to taste this wine over lunch with winemaker extraordinaire Thierry Haberer at the farm earlier this year and are delighted to have a 30 bottle allocation to share with you. Barely more than 2,500 bottles were produced and the wine, which spends 27 months in French Oak before bottling, is rich, elegant and one of the finest expressions of Cabernet Franc you’re likely to find.
