Deux Frères, Fraternité, Stellenbosch, 2015
Described by the farm as a Rhone style blend but precisely this is 70% Syrah and 30% Mourvedre which is matured in a mix of both Hungarian and American 225L barriques for a period of 18 months.
I’d go so far as to say it’s not Rhone style but a Rhone imposter! This could easily pass for a £50/£60 Chateauneuf yet the U.K. shelf price will be less than half of that 🤯 Abundant with the perfume and texture of partially melted vanilla ice cream infused with garrigue herbs, black cherry, black olive, licorice & new leather.
