César à Sumeire Coussin, Cotes de Provence Rosé, Saint-Victoire, France, 2018
A limited production release from Chateau Coussin, named in honour of the famous French sculptor Cesar Baldaccini who signed this cuvée as a marked of his fondness for the Sumeire family.
Produced from old low yielding Grenache & Syrah vines, the blend is comprised of precisely 50% of each varietal. This pale pink rosé has a wonderfully robust and lengthy palate of kumquat and apricot with a finish of yellow peach. Not a typical demure Provencal rosé, this is profound and opulent.
“Really fine on the nose, with delicate citrus, cherry and strawberry confit on the nose. Touch of pepper too. Dances on the palate, quietly, powerful with texture and great length.” 95 points – IWC
