Bedouet Vigneron, Clos des Grands Primos, Muscadet-Sevre et Maine, France, 2020
Creamy lemon and oyster shell. No oak, just light, lees-flowery, a bit peachy fruit, too. Good concentration actually, plenty on the palate. Mouthwatering and saline minerality, refreshing and very satisfying as a gastro wine.
The key to this lovely little wine is the purity of the fruit. The producer grows organic muscadet grapes (no hangover, not guaranteed – although I have to say, I felt fresh as a daisy the next day), and being certified organic, no chemical additions are used in the cellar either.
