Introducing Longridge: Helderberg Purity Meets Biodynamic Precision
New from South Africa – the soulful, biodynamic wines of Longridge
We’re thrilled to welcome Longridge Wines to the Museum Wines portfolio – a producer whose work on the slopes of Stellenbosch’s Helderberg mountain represents some of the most exciting and soulful winemaking coming out of South Africa today.
At the heart of Longridge is Jasper Raats – winemaker, biodynamic pioneer, and a man whose roots run as deep in the soil as his wines suggest. Since 2011, he’s been proving that Helderberg isn’t just about powerful reds – it’s a place capable of great delicacy, site expression, and purity. Certified organic and biodynamic, Jasper’s approach blends science and faith, precision and intuition – resulting in wines that are thoughtful, honest, and quietly thrilling.
We’re proud to be offering a focused selection of seven wines from this world-class estate.
These are wines with soul, made by a man who believes in the land and trusts nature to lead. They are a celebration of site, of restraint, of farming with integrity – and we believe they deserve a place in every serious South African collection.
Explore the range and discover why Jasper Raats is one of the most respected, and quietly revolutionary voices in South African wine today.

Predominantly unwooded Chardonnay, blended with a small amount of lightly wooded Pinot Noir from the Elgin. Both varieties were whole bunched pressed and allowed native yeast fermentation. Pinot Noir is transferred to aged wooden barrels, while the Chardonnay stayed in tanks in order to mature on the lees before being blended. A fresh wine with a lovely hue, bursting with aromas of ripe guava, pineapple, kiwi, green apple and a hint of strawberry, ending with a well-balanced acidity and a lingering finish.

“Produced as a tribute to the demi-sec wines of Vouvray, Ou Steen is made with 20 grams of residual sugar. Sourced from a 0.7-hectare parcel planted in 1981, this is pithy, steely and focused, with orange zest, green apple and stone fruit flavours and a lovely interplay between acidity and sweetness. Gloriously sui generis. 2025-32”- Tim Atkin MW.

“Located at 350 metres on the flank of the Helderberg, Clos du Ciel gets a lot of cooling influence from nearby False Bay and is suitably chiselled and focused as a result. Fermented in 50% new oak with full malolactic, it has jasmine and nutmeg aromas, flavours of lemon butter and patisserie and a steely finish. 2025-29”- Tim Atkin MW.

“The popularity of Eliptika in Switzerland shows that the Swiss have great taste. Based on Cabernet Franc, with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon providing support, it’s a serious, grippy, well structured red with good texture and leafy top notes.”- Tim Atkin MW.

“This was the last vintage of Maandans from a vineyard planted in 1972, but Longridge have a “succession plan”, according to Jasper Raats. Fresh, floral and fynbos scented, it’s a sappy, elegant red that will appeal to Pinot Noir lovers, with textured tannins, succulent raspberry and wild strawberry fruit and excellent focus and length. 2025-32″- Tim Atkin MW.

“Misterie is part of a small coterie of world-class Merlots produced in South Africa, sourced from a south-west-facing vineyard on the False Bay side of the Helderberg. Serious, structured and stylishly wooded in 80% new oak, it has a ferrous undertone from iron-rich soils, cassis and blueberry fruit and top notes of dark chocolate and dried herbs. 2024-32”- Tim Atkin MW.

““The best Merlot I could find” is Jasper Raats’ description of this compact, richly layered blend with 3% Cabernet Franc. The price may put some off, but it’s a very ambitious red with serious ageworthy tannins and masses of inky fruit. 2022-30 “- Tim Atkin MW.
