Brookdale Estate joins the Museum Wines portfolio…

We’re delighted to announce that Brookdale Estate, located in Paarl, are joining the Museum Wines portfolio of wines imported and distributed exclusively by us in the UK. The farm, which was comprised of dilapidated buildings and overgrown vineyards prior to new owner Tim Rudd taking charge, boasts Old Vine Chenin Blanc that has been crafted into possibly the most impressive wine we’ve tasted this year… and we’ve tasted rather a lot.

Cult winemaker Duncan Savage is consultant winemaker at Brookdale but it’s been his former assistant winemaker, Kiara Scott, who’s been catching the hearts and minds of the wine media with firstly Jancis Robinson and more recently The Telegraph featuring her story on their sought after pages.

Her role at the farm makes her one of the youngest Senior Winemakers in the country but that hasn’t stopped her making what was unanimously noted to be a remarkably impressive wine with an elegance and finesse that could be easily mistaken for fine Burgundy, almost akin to Loire based Domaine Champalou’s Le Portail Vouvray which employs a Burgundian approach to Chenin Blanc.

However her entry level Chenin Blanc, dubbed Mason Road, is similarly impressive for its value in that it delivers a huge level of quality at a price point which makes it both sessionable and a sensible option to keep in the fridge for every day enjoyment. Both wines are available to pre-order now, just click either link below to view them on our website…
