Stark-Condé Field Blend scores yet again…

The 2020 vintage now has SEVEN major accolades to its name…
Stark-Conde’s Field Blend 2020 has been our best selling white wine this year, and for good reason. The wine was borne from an underperforming vineyard comprised of red grapes on the farm which they pulled up and replaced with an experimental assortment of Chenin Blanc, Roussanne, Verdelho and Viognier.

The 2020 vintage has been the most highly awarded in the past ten years, receiving scores of 17.5 out of 20 from Jancis Robinson, 95 points from Tim Atkin, 94 points from Decanter, Five Stars from John Platter and overall winner of Best White blend from the Old Mutual national trophy.

Apparently that wasn’t quite enough though as it’s come up trumps again. It’s just been named the Best White Blend at the Global Fine Wine challenge underlining the fact that this isn’t just a phenomenal wine from South Africa but a phenomenal wine full stop – regardless of where it has come from.

The variety of the awards and scoring methods is befitting of a wine so diverse in nature, which in 2020 is driven by 56% Roussanne and utterly beguiling with a viscous, tongue grabbing texture and character of paya, peach concentrate, cold jasmine tea, smoke from a freshly lit cigar and wet slate.

Unsurprisingly we recently sold out but our recent shipment has just arrived and we are bountiful with stock once more… for now.
