Our wines fly the flag for South Africa on JancisRobinson.com….

Jancis Robinson and Tamlyn Currin have just published an article entitled “Real progress in South Africa” which gets into the nitty gritty of more than 90 new releases from across the Cape winelands.

We’re thrilled, but not at all surprised, that two of our wines have achieved the joint highest score in the entire tasting, and one of them is brand spanking new.

Brookdale’s inaugural release of their 2021 Sixteen Field Blend, so named as it is comprised of sixteen inter-planted varietals on the Paarl farm, has been awarded an impressive 17.5 out of 20 as has Lokaia ‘The Sandman’ Chardonnay – itself a new wine only released for the first time last year.

But that’s not all folks! Lokaia also had their ‘Call of the Void’ Cabernet Francbestowed with 17 out of 20, the same score given to Porseleinberg 2020 which commands twice the price and thrice the fanfare… sound the trumpets!

Each wine has it’s own quite beautiful tasting note accompanying it, just click the name of the wine below to read it in full and hey, whilst you’re at it, why not snap up a few bottles at the same time?

Brookdale, Sixteen Field Blend, Paarl, 2021
Lokaia, Call of the Void, Cabernet Franc, Franschhoek, 2020
Lokaia, The Sandman, Chardonnay, Franschhoek, 2020
