We’ve taken the decision this week to make an amendment to our operating hours and it’s quite an alien one for any wine merchant. We’re now only going to be open Monday to Friday until further notice. We’re also reducing our shop opening hours and closing the doors at 4pm to allow us to get out with local deliveries.
Having been working six day weeks for the past few years and only having consecutive days off when away from work for the decade I’ve been in the industry this is just another aspect of the strange new world we’ve found ourselves plunged into.
As our business has very much changed from a pop in shop to fulfilling online and telephone orders both locally and nationwide our traditionally busiest footfall day being Saturday is now somewhat obsolete. This means Alex and I can recharge our batteries and start again fresh on Monday to continue getting orders out within 24 hours of them being received.
Lastly, due to the increase in volume of orders being sent via FedEX we’ve been able to negotiate a lower rate and subsequently reduce our shipping charge to £8.95, or £11.95 for guaranteed next day. Though, shipping is still free of charge if you spend over £200.
At present orders are being dispatched on the day received, or the next day at the latest, and FedEX are completing delivery well within the 2-3 window for economy services or 24 hours for next day on orders placed before midday.
We’re also not limiting the number of bottles you can order like supermarkets or refusing orders altogether like some of the larger companies in our industry. Just click the button below to browse our website, order whatever you want, we’ll dispatch it on Monday and you should have it by Wednesday…Easy!
Keep well and stay safe,
