There’s a new shop in town! You haven’t heard? Well, don’t feel bad, we’ve only opened in December.
Museum Wines – Cranborne is the latest addition to the Museum Wines stable, which is suitable because its actually in, what used to be, a stable! The new shop is situated just inside the entrance to the undeniably elegant grounds of the stately country house that is 10 Castle Street. Offering the same great value across the Museum Wines range, there’s sure to be something that you’ll love at a price you can enjoy.
We offer bespoke tastings, focusing on anything from teaching the very basics of wine structure to the budding enthusiast to pairing wines to your favourite music. These events are available to book in advance, but you can always just show up anytime. We’ll always have something open to taste, but every Friday the Cranborne shop will be holding informal tastings until 8. So, show up when you can and start your weekend off right by finding a new favourite wine.
If you’re having Lunch or dinner at 10 Castle Street (book here), you can now purchase a bottle of wine from the shop and only pay a £10 corkage fee on your bill to have it with your meal! So, you can either save a bundle or drink a simply superb bottle to heighten your, already amazing, dining experience. And, its worth mentioning that you could even book a pre-dinner tasting here at the shop to warm up your palate for the culinary delights that lie ahead.
J Corey Evans (“Your Friendly Neighborhood Sommelier” and the man behind the helm) joined the Museum Wines team fresh from his role as a Sommelier at Chewton Glen in February of last year. Before that he has held almost every position that the hospitality industry has to offer, most notably managing the wine shop/bar St Swithin’s Wine Shippers in London while studying for his Diploma in Wine and Spirits from the WSET which he received just before starting with us. He holds a degree in Sound Engineering and spent his 20’s as the front man for a rock and roll outfit in San Francisco.
He has been trusted by Alex and Gretchen Boon to put his fingerprints onto almost every aspect of the design of the beautiful new shop where he works closely with the team at 10 Castle Street to develop a comprehensive and value focused wine offering that is sure to turn some heads. You can rest assured that he draws from his vast breadth of knowledge in order to offer sound guidance when you’re looking for a wine that goes with anything from Salmon En Croute to Led Zepplin’s Houses of the Holy.
