We are elated that Steven Spurrier, renowned wine expert, maker and writer, is going to be joining us on Sunday at this year’s at the Dorset Wine Festival!
He brings with him an incomparable list of credentials and his impact on the world of wine is unmatched. He founded the Academie du Vin, which was the first private wine school in France in 1973, which led to the famous Judgment of Paris in 1976. For those of you who might not be familiar with this, it was a blind tasting where Californian Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon bested their French rivals, staking claim to a much disputed victory in some cases. This tasting would open the gates to competition between known and unknown wines of quality and revolutionised the industry as a whole.
He has finally written a book about his life, including his side of this controversial story, in his new book, “Wine, A Way of Life.” He will be presenting this and his Bride Valley English Sparkling wines which are made right here in Dorset.
Don’t miss out on a chance to get a book signed by one of the most influential people that the wine world has ever known.
We’ve still got some tickets left and with over 150 wines, music, food and a picturesque setting at 10 Castle Street, its sure to be a fantastic weekend.
