Willowglen Semillon Chardonnay

Pale straw yellow in colour with typical aromas of lemon and straw and peach . Creamy, medium bodied wine supported by vanilla oak, producing complexity and length. The semillon and chardonnay grapes were picked at baumes to enhance the varietal characteristics and then fermented seperately with American oak. After clarification the wine was blended and stabilised prior to final filtration and bottling. Ideally consumed fresh although can be cellered for up to 2 years. An ideal match for light, spicy seafood or chicken dishes such as chilli prawn salad or chicken with lemongrass.

This unusual grape variety produces a pleasantly full, tropical fruit style. It has hints of violets and apricots on the nose with creamy lychee and pineapple on the palate,finishing on a crisp, savoury, dry note.

Appearance: Light straw with attractive green undertones. Bouquet: Clean, fragrant, slightly grassy aromas. Palate: The palate exhibits intense gooseberry and full tropical fruit flavours with delicacy and freshness, balanced with good acidity. Cellaring: Enjoy this wine now whilst young and fruity or cellar for up to two years. Winemaking: Fruit for this very fresh, aromatic wine style is machine picked at night when the air is cooler and gently pressed at the winery. The juice is clarified and fermented at cool temperatures for 4 weeks. The youthful wine is then fined and filtered directly to bottle ready for immediate enjoyment. The aromas and flavours are at their most intense whilst the wine is young and fresh.
